Buddhini Withana is the Team Lead – Child Protection in Emergencies at Save the Children International. Buddhini holds a Master’s Degree in Childhood Studies from the University of Edinburgh. She is an NCFE UK certified leading edge child protection practitioner with over 15 years of experience in child protection and child rights. Her work has mainly focused on advocacy and technical expertise for improving governance measures for child protection and child rights, across both online and offline spaces. Buddhini is part of Save the Children’s Global Technical Leadership Group on Child Protection, as its expert on protecting children from digital harm. She is currently a PhD candidate at the School of Health in Social Sciences at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
