The National Children’s Council (NCC) of Sri Lanka is a visionary initiative that amplifies the voices of the young, fostering a proactive stance on child rights and well-being. It’s a commitment to listening, adapting, and acting on the collective call for a better tomorrow for all children.
In November 2023, children representing all 25 districts gathered, to speak about their work, how they can come together, and how adults can listen to their voices and empower the work they do.
Over the 3 days, children took part in various team building activities, they were encouraged to stand up for their rights, voted in their next era of leaders, and spoke about important ways to ensure children’s voices in national policy level discussions.
The event was organized by the Department of Probation and Child Care Services, supported by Civil Society Organizations such as @WDC @Leads @FISD @SLU International Non- Governmental agencies such as @WorldVision @SavetheChildrenSriLanka and @UNICEF.
This partnership emphasizes Sri Lanka’s commitment to promoting children and youths’ voices at grassroots, regional, and national levels.
