FISD’s programme team participated in the Prevention Collaborative’s VAW (Violence Against Women) Asia Cluster Programme 2025, a prestigious co-learning initiative that brings together civil society organizations from Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, and Nepal to build the capacity in prevention of violence against women. The programme aimed to strengthen local capacity to develop, implement, and scale effective prevention programming in low-resource environments, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based, transformative approaches.
An intensive in-person workshop was held from 11th to 15th August 2025 in Nepal. Over the four days, sessions covered the nature and root causes of violence against women, the socio-ecological model and protective factors, global risk factors for intimate partner violence, core prevention principles, an honest examination of what does not work in prevention, introduction to the prevention triad, and structured action planning for next steps. The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for cross-country learning and sharing of best practices.
Following the workshop, FISD actively participated in six online continuous learning sessions held every two weeks from August to November 2025. Topics included transformative programming; interactive and aspirational programming approaches; programme exposure through real-world case studies; developing a Theory of Change; effective strategies for engaging men and boys; and a final wrap-up session focused on action planning and reflecting on key learnings. The programme strengthened FISD’s capacity to design and implement evidence-based violence prevention programmes and fostered regional collaboration with peer organizations across Asia.
