Isuru Kanishka
Programme Officer (Alcohol, Drugs Prevention and Development)
Isuru is a committed social activist with a strong passion for social development and youth empowerment. His work is driven by a desire to create meaningful change within communities. He has a deep interest in continuous learning, constantly seeking out new knowledge and insights, and he is actively involved in research that informs his work. Since 2022, Isuru has been an integral part of FISD, where he serves as a Programme Officer in the Alcohol, Drugs, Prevention and Development Unit. In this role, he is focused on reducing the availability and harmful impact of alcohol in Sri Lanka, working on initiatives that address the root causes and societal challenges associated with substance abuse. Isuru holds a BA (Hons) degree in Sociology from the University of Kelaniya. Additionally, he is furthering his expertise by pursuing a Diploma in Counselling at the same university, aiming to enhance his ability to support individuals and communities in achieving well-being.
