Program Manager – Gender and Development

Chathurika joined FISD five years ago as part of the Gender and Development programme, embarking on a transformative journey that tested her skills and deepened her commitment to gender justice. With a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and a Master’s Degree in Development Studies, she further honed her expertise as a fellow of the Fund for American Studies at George Mason University, USA. Her passion for women’s rights was ignited during her undergraduate years, when she volunteered with both international and local NGOs, sparking her advocacy and shaping her identity as a feminist. Today, Chathurika leads FISD’s Gender and Development programme with unwavering passion and determination, striving to create a gender-just and equal society for all. Her journey of learning and unlearning, grounded in a commitment to gender equality, drives her to spearhead initiatives that challenge the status quo and promote lasting change.
